In Engeland werd vrijdag een eerste prijs uitgedeeld. De Britse pers koos voor Jordan Henderson, aanvoerder van kampioen Liverpool, als zijn Speler van het Jaar. De uitverkiezing van de Engelse middenvelder werd echter vooral op onbegrip onthaald, want vrijwel iedereen leek het erover eens dat de prijs naar Kevin De Bruyne had moeten gaan na zijn weergaloze seizoen bij Manchester City. Dat blijkt toch uit de reacties op Twitter.
Love the fact that Hendo won it, but if the name doesn’t start with Kevin and ends with De Bruyne, it’s the wrong name the way i see it.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however your only justification for not voting for Kevin de Bruyne seems to be that he doesn't play for the champions - flimsy at best.

If Kevin De Bruyne played with Liverpool this season would he have the same influence as Henderson? Yes, without a doubt. If Jordan Henderson played with City would he have the same influence as De Bruyne? No, Thats the difference.
