Door de coronapandemie is het nog altijd koffiedik kijken of het EK in 12 landen zal plaatsvinden. Er is een plan B om alles in één land (Rusland?) te organiseren. Vanuit één land is er goed nieuws.
Boekarest is één van de gaststeden en in de National Arena kunnen 50.000 fans aanwezig zijn. Volgens de Roemeense journalist Emanuel Rosu mogen er al zeker 12.000 fans (ongeveer 25%) in het stadion aanwezig zijn. Er zullen tot op heden vier wedstrijden plaatsvinden in Boekarest.
Met Oostenrijk-Noord-Macedonië, Oekraïne-Noord-Macedonië en Oekraïne-Oostenrijk staan er al drie groepswedstrijden gepland in juni. Op 28 juni vindt er ook een 1/8ste finale plaats.
