Het is inmiddels wel algemeen bekend dat oefenmeester Arsène Wenger er de brui aan geeft aan het einde van het lopende voetbaljaar. Hij wordt mogelijk opgevolgd door Luis Enrique, die eerder aan het roer stond van FC Barcelona. Het bovengenoemde medium schrijft dat de Spanjaard een ambitieus plannetje heeft: hij wil Messi ertoe bewegen het Camp Nou-stadion gedag te zeggen om zich bij de selectie van de Gunners te voegen.

Het is natuurlijk zeer onwaarschijnlijk dat dit gebeurt. De Argentijn strijkt een pak miljoenen per seizoen op in Catalonië en dat is een bedrag dat Arsenal nooit kan/wil aftikken. Op de sociale media wordt dan ook flink gelachen met dit gerucht.
