Bayat-bom barst in Engeland: fans Watford viseren Still

Edward Still vertrok bij RSC Anderlecht om aan de slag te gaan bij Watford. Dat roept vragen op. Ook in Engeland. Boegbeeld Troy Deeney vindt het maar niets, maar de fans zijn het ook stilaan beu en Still gaat alvast onder grote druk beginnen.

Bayat loodst Still naar Watford

Mogi Bayat loodste Edward Still en Karim Belhocine naar Watford. Watford en Bayat werken al vele jaren samen. Dat heeft de Engelse club geen goed gedaan.

Ze staan in de buik van het klassement in The Championship en hebben met Formose Mendy, Jérémy Petris, Edo Kayembe, Pierre Dwomoh en Giorgi Chakvetadze niet voor niets de nodige spelers onder contract staan die in België speelden.

Still begint met weinig krediet

Op X zijn de fans niet te spreken over de macht van Bayat, die zeer close is met eigenaar Gino Pozzo. Bayat heeft ondertussen ook weer bij héél wat Belgische clubs een voet tussen de deur gekregen. En zo is alles na het voetbalschandaal in België, waar Bayat ook in werd genoemd, weer bij het oude.

Zou Bayat ook met data werken? Ondertussen maakte Still weinig indruk als T1. Hij faalde bij KAS Eupen en KV Kortrijk, daarnaast scoorde hij ook geen punten toen hij voor de camera’s loog over de interesse van Watford. Still zal snel resultaten moeten halen in Engeland, want met de ‘Bayat-stempel’ zal zijn krediet niet groot zijn bij de aanhang.

What Gino see's in Edward Still, that no one else except Bayat, might be a stroke of genius.

Success or failure at Watford is entirely random at this point. Still has just as much chance as anyone else, the main plus point for him at this point is he’s a Bayat boy so will almost certainly get more time than most.
